Save the Date for FREE youth fishing instruction and environmental education activities along the banks of the Anacostia River in Anacostia Park!
DOEE’s annual Family & Youth Casting Call is taking place on April 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. just outside of the Aquatic Resources Education Center and adjacent to the Skating Pavilion in Anacostia Park.
This event includes fishing instruction, environmental education activities, and community resources for youth aged 15 and under and their families. Families can bring their own fishing equipment or youth may use the spin casting equipment provided by DOEE. DOEE also supplies bait and organizes volunteer fishing instructors to help youth participants and their families learn the basics of catch-and-release fishing in a fun, supportive setting.
Registration is strongly recommended and will open on March 30, 2018. Reservations hold fishing equipment for your child (aged 15 and younger) for a one hour period.
