Description: Would you like to learn more about the hard work of students participating in Anacostia Watershed Society's Rice Rangers program and ways to get your students involved? Just interested in exploring the Anacostia River with the whole family? Come on out for the Family Day event on April 14th!
The event on the 14th will be held at Anacostia Park. Join us for a tour the Anacostia River by boat and an exploration of the Aquatic Resources Education Center (AREC). On the boat tour, join AWS staff to learn more about the project your student is assisting with; then check out the variety of fish, turtles, frogs, and other Anacostia River creatures on display in the AREC with staff from the District Department of Energy and Environment.
Half of the event will be spent on the boat; half of the event will be spent in the Aquatic Resources Education Center.
What to Bring: Please be sure to wear comfortable clothes! Make sure you are dressed in layers so that you can bundle up if needed!
Registration is required. Please register at least 2 days prior to the event date.
IMPORTANT: You must register for every individual in your family that will be attending. Any individual who has not registered will unfortunately not be able to attend – including any family members who have not been registered even if other family members have.
