On Saturday, February 3, 2018, join the Earth Conservation Corps (ECC) and Serve DC – The Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism at ECC’s very own Diamond Teague Park for the World Wetlands Day Anacostia River Cleanup. This year’s theme is “Year of the Anacostia: Wetlands for a Sustainable Urban Future.”
WHEN: Saturday, February 3rd, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: Diamond Teague Park (99 Potomac Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003)
WHAT: Volunteers and Earth Conservation Corps (ECC) leaders will be collecting trash that has accumulated in the wetland area. This area is located adjacent to sewage outflow, resulting in large amounts of trash and debris collecting after each rainfall.
BRING WITH YOU: Bring a smile, a positive attitude, and shoes that can get muddy.
PROVIDED: ECC will provide gloves and trash bags for all volunteers. We will also have boots and waders for available for volunteers that are distributed on a first-come, first serve basis.
